About the Event
We’ll be working on increasing clarity and motivation for behaviors through ecollar conditioning and practice, building toward confidence in freedom using the tool as a half mile leash.
Discussion will include learning through escape/avoidance pressure, the good and bad of applying stress and instruction on the components of the collar and how to choose the right collar for your dog, the basics of the conditioning process and how to use the collar to increase precision in behaviors vs. extinguish problematic behaviors. Then we’ll move into conditioning with each team over several reps.
Those with working spots must have dogs that know a set of behaviors - ideally a place, down and recall - and have experience with a release or terminal marker, whether its verbal or a clicker.
All dogs six months and older are welcome. Bring plenty of food and toy rewards, your preferred training collar and a leash.
Rebecca is the owner and head trainer of Peace of Mind Canine in Concord, NH and has several years of experience with pet and working dog teams, focusing on relationship building, behavior modification and foundational obedience for home and sport.
Working spots are $100 with a limit of 8
Audit spots are $20
